A warm welcome to our newest member – Archie!

Today the Wild Side Pack welcomed a new member – Archie the Springer Spaniel. I was delighted as although I have a number of Cocker Spaniels in my pack, Archie is my first Springer!

He was a little unsure about the van (but not too bad), but once up at Mugdock he was perfect. I kept him on the lead for less than 5 minutes as every time I called on him while on the extending lead, he shot instantly back to me.
Off lead he had an absolute blast – running about through the forest with Ivy and Ghillie, splashing through the puddles and jumping into every bit of mud/bog he could find.
I never needed to watch for him as he kept his eye on me the whole time, and he played and interacted beautifully with the rest of the pack.
Archie is a lovely friendly boy, who comes from a loving and caring home – my favourite breed of dog. Welcome, Archie! You and I are going to get on just brilliantly.

Barclay

Barclay has been on his holidays with me for the last few days, and he couldn’t have been better. He gets on so well with Holly and Ivy, he is fantastic in the house and out on our walks and I just think he’s a wonderful dog in every sense but it will be my daughter Sarah who is heart broken!

She just LOVES Barclay. She warms his mince (“he LOVES it, Mum”), wants him to sleep in her bed, and cuddles him endlessly.
Sarah will be heart broken when I take Barclay home, and although he will be quite delighted to see his owners, I have a sneaking suspicion that he might miss her too!!

Herbie’s last Wild Side Walk

Herbie (the black lab in the photo) had his last walk with the gang today, as he is moving to Hove, near Brighton.

Herbie has been the most wonderful addition to my pack – he leaps straight into the van, LOVES our walks together and gets on with ALL the other dogs. You NEVER need to worry about him wandering, or not getting on with anyone – he has the most beautiful gentle nature.
He enjoyed a last stick fight with Ghillie (there have been many!!) and a last swim up at the Abbe this morning. I will miss him so much – I had to run away when when I was dropping him off home as tears were definitely just about there!!
Hope you find a great dog walker back in Hove, Herbie (they will be SO lucky!)
I will miss you terribly ๐Ÿ™ but hope you and your family enjoy being back in Brighton.

My Wee Helper!

The summer holidays from school have finally arrived which means I have a wee helper – my daughter Sarah loves to come with me when she can!

Sarah is great with the dogs and they ALL just love her. Coco especially just adores Sarah – when I go to pick her up, as soon as she catches sight of Sarah in the passenger seat she goes completely crazy! Running full pelt for the van, tail wagging SO fast that you can hardly see it!
I appreciate the company and the dogs just love Sarah, and Sarah loves to walk with me and loves all the dogs – win, win, win WIN!!

Ghillie’s Holidays

Ghillie has been on his holidays with me for the last week while his owners were away enjoying some sun (lucky things!)

The weather was truly awful for practically the whole time, not that it bothered Ghillie too much!
He was the perfect house guest – my kids just loved having him to stay (me too!)
We walked up at Mugdock Country Park, Queens View and Drymen and Ghillie LOVED all of our walks.
He went home this afternoon, and my house now seems very quiet without him….

Juno and Chilli

Juno and Chilli have been on their holiday with me for the last few days and have been the perfect house guests.

They have both LOVED their walks, in the house they couldn’t have been better and they get on so well with Holly and Ivy!
Juno has always been a firm favourite within my pack and the new addition to the household is going to be another perfect pack member. Chilli is still very young, but by the way she behaves you would think she is much older – she is very respectful, comes immediately she is called and is the cutest thing you have ever seen.
You two are ALWAYS welcome in my house!

SUN!!

Can you believe the day that it was today?! There are days when it’s really cold and driving rain that I wonder what on earth made me decide to do this, but on days like today, I remember!!

Two fantastic walks today with all my usual suspects – the first up at Drymen which still has a lot of storm damage ie trees down blocking the paths! A very wild walk negotiating our way round them all!
The second at Mugdock which wasn’t nearly as wild as Drymen, but just as much fun!
Hope the sun last for a wee while yet….

Juno and the Mud

Every time I take Juno out, she will generally find the dirtiest bogs and mud that she can find – and in the wilds that I walk, there is generally plenty of that!

Today though, she really did excel by landing face down in an absolutely filthy mud-hole – and for once I managed to get a photo of her!! Normally, Juno bombs about at 100mph and getting a photo of her at the best of times is difficult but today I lured her with a biscuit.
Juno is a really, really great dog and I love her to bits – and she always makes me smile too! ๐Ÿ™‚

A warm welcome to our newest member – Maizie

Today I welcomed a new girl into my pack – Maizie the Labradoodle. She was going to start with me at the same time as Max, but as he took a little time to settle into the pack I concentrated on Max first.

As Max is now the perfect pack member, it was time for Maizie to join us – and she was perfect! A little hesitant with the van (but not too bad), very friendly with the other dogs, and completely nuts once I had taken her lead off. Check out the youtube footage of her today to see her in action – hilarious!
The first time I called on her, Maizie instantly shot straight back to me – another Carlsberg dog! How lucky am I?

Testimonials

First of all Jacqui is a dog lover and has a fantastic attachment to all her dogs. She first took one of our dogs almost 10 years ago and he absolutely loved going with Jacqui. He was always at the door waiting excitedly for her because he always got a good long walk in lots of interesting wild places. We have never regretted using Wild Side Walks and would recommend her to anyone. Professional, reliable, trustworthy – Jacqui knows and understands dogs and their needs (a real live dog whisperer ?). She is absolutely brilliant, canโ€™t thank her enough.
