At Least it didn’t rain…….

Dry at last…….a nice walk along the West Highland Way with Gemma, Boris, Holly and Ivy. Gemma still managed to find snow to roll about in, she does love doing that!

Boris was as cute as ever – and a big “CONGRATULATIONS!” to his owners who have just become proud parents to Izzi! Hope that I have tired Boris out enough that you can enjoy your first day home with your daughter…..

A Wet, Windy and really Wild Side Walk

On the wettest day of the year so far, I had a full house of Gemma and Murphy, the cocker Spaniels, Jude the lab, and 3 Vizslak – my own 2 Holly and Ivy and the cutest pup in the world, Boris.

Boris HATED the rain/snow and started shivering within 10 minutes of starting our walk. He spent the next 15 minutes inside my jacket looking regally out at the rest of the dogs. That boy had no problem getting carried around!
Holly and Ivy were not too keen on the weather either (it’s their very thin coats…), but it didn’t bother Murphy, Gemma and especially not Jude…….didn’t dampen his ardour for Ivy at all.
Thought I had seen the last of the snow, but obviously not! Please, please, please send the sun!!

Another Wet Walk….will it ever end??

Yet another wet walk today, will the rain ever end? In this picture are 2 Cocker Spaniels that come on my Wild Walks – Murphy and Gemma. They make me smile when they walk/run side by side, as it’s hard to tell where one starts and the other ends! We also had Gigha the Retriever, and Cara the Black Lab, as well as my own 2 Vizsla’s Holly & Ivy.
All our thoughts are with Vito today, as he was going in to get his “Big” operation, so that he won’t find Ivy quite as attractive as he used to. When you see Ivy though, you can see just what good taste Vito has!
Get Well Soon, Big Boy, We all miss you (especially Ivy…)

Back to Drymen…

Another great walk, with a lot better weather than yesterday, thank goodness!

Skye the Collie, as usual was the perfect gentleman, Gemma loved having another Cocker Spaniel (Murphy) to run with, it is really cute when the two of them run side by side. Murphy was excited to see me, I could hardly get the door of my van open he was so keen to get in! Jude, the Lab, doesn’t even need his lead now when I go to pick him up – he bounces around and as soon as the door of the van is open, he greets all his canine friends with his big tail constantly wagging – it never stops!!
The “Awww” factor is still with Boris, the Vizsla, I am sure it is an involuntary reaction when you see him to say “Awwwwwww….he is too cute!”.

Pepsi’s First Wild Side Walk

New girl Pepsi, the boxer, came with us on a very wet and windy walk. Hardly the best day for walking, but she still LOVED it. She travelled really well, and loved the company of the other dogs. Mugdock Country Park is still an amazing place to walk, even in the rain! Accompanied by another puppy, Boris the Vizsla the two of them really hit it off, I can see a beautiful friendship forming.

Jude found ever bit of mud that Mugdock had to offer (and there was plenty today!) and had a blast, the weather certainly doesn’t bother that boy….and Skye, as usual, is the perfect gentleman with the best manners ever.
My own two Vizslas always love their walks, and today was no exception.
Missing my wolf a little….

A great Wild Walk!

Another fantastic walk today through the glorious scenery of Drymen’s forest, through the woods and back along the West Highland Way. Full compliment of dogs, Gemma the cocker spaniel, Murphy another cocker with the most beautiful eyelashes (I want them!), Skye– the most balanced dog I have ever met, Molly the hunter had a fantastic time finding lots of wildlife and my old favourite, amorous Vito the Wolf!

The snow is nearly all gone, and the temperatures are definitely climbing, roll on the summer months!

The Wilds I Walk

Favourite spot at the moment for great walks, off the West Highland Way near Drymen. With Gemma the Cocker Spaniel on the lead, Skye the Collie, Alfa the German Wired Haired Pointer, Jude the Lab’ and my two Viszlas Holly and Ivy. We’ve had winter there for the past three weeks or so with snow over the ankles. The season is a changing and we were back to good old fashioned West of Scotland conditions of low grey cloud, drizzle and a temperature struggling to get above 10 degrees. Explored a new path today, and was pleased that all the dogs responded well to a rider on horseback (shot into the forest away from them)…. hoorah!!! Welcomed the “new girl” Alfa as well who fitted in a treat, while having a ball exploring the woods., She made me feel good too by always coming back when called.

A Wild Side Blog

Trying my hand at a Blog for the first time. We were up near Drymen today enjoying what felt like a change in the season. It’s been cold for so long now that I’d almost forgotten what it felt like when the temperature rose into double figures. The snow has all but melted off the paths we’ve been taking of late, but Gemma still got a roll about in the odd patch or three. Vito found every Stygian patch of bog, stretch of mud, length of puddle and the odd stream to cool himself off. Afraid the star of the show today was another Viszla (gaspers!), the 13 week old Boris who stole the show on cuteness.
